chicken orange stir-fry


canola oil

water chestnuts

boneless-skinless chicken breast



1 orange

cooking sherry

teriyaki sauce

cayenne pepper

  • Clean chicken, cut into small, thin strips
  • Cut broccoli into medium sized pieces (not too small)
  • Chop onion into chunks
  • Heat oil in skillet on medium
  • Add chicken to pan, cook over medium until lightly brown, (turn heat down if needed)
  • Add broccoli, onion and water chestnuts to pan
  • Add cayenne pepper to taste (1/2 teaspoon) or more
  • Add 1/4 cup sherry
  • Add teriyaki sauce to taste
  • Add orange zest ( with small grater, grate orange peel into pan, the entire orange should have almost no orange color showing)
  • Simmer on low until chicken is done. Add more sherry if needed.

Serve with steamed rice
