apple puff

This is an easy fall treat for a special breakfast or dessert. Serve with vanilla ice cream and warm caramel sauce for dessert.

Serves 2.

Ingredients:

2 apples ( I used 1 Granny Smith and 1 Honey Crisp), sliced

Cinnamon

Sugar

Nutmeg

Allspice

1 sheet puff pastry, thawed

2 tablespoons butter

Butterscotch chips

Raw Sugar

Kosher Salt

Pecan chips

Directions:

  • Melt butter in a skillet
  • Preheat oven to 400
  • Add sliced apples, sprinkle apples with sugar and toss around
  • Sprinkle apples with cinnamon, continue to cook, stirring
  • Add a pinch of Kosher salt and Nutmeg and a couple pinches of All Spice, cook until soft
  • Add about a 1/2 a cup of butterscotch chips and stir until melted
  • Cut puff pastry in half diagonally, add apple mixture and top with pecan chips to both sheets
  • Fold like a puff like in picture below, Top with raw sugar.
  • Bake for about 30 minutes or until golden brown
