vegan nut turnovers


I served this a dessert, they were great. Honey would be a nice touch instead of sugar.


4 sheets puff pastry, thawed

2 tablespoons almonds, chopped and ground

2 tablespoons pecans chopped and ground

2 tablespoons walnuts, chopped and ground

2 tablespoons vegan margarine, melted

2 tablespoons powdered sugar

pinch sugar

  • Thaw puff pastry
  • Preheat the oven to the temperature on puff pastry box
  • Chop nuts, add some chopped nuts to the bowl, grind the rest into the consistency of flour
  • Melt the margarine
  • Place all chopped and ground nuts in a bowl, add powdered sugar and most of the margarine (save some for tops)
  • Mix well
  • Cut pastry strips into three squares
  • Put a tablespoon of the mixture in the center of each pastry
  • Bring points together and pinch dough shut
  • Brush remaining margarine on top and dust lightly with sugar
  • Bake 20 minutes or until golden
