button mushrooms in wine

Ingredients:

2 small packages small, white button mushrooms

butter

onion, chopped

1 clove garlic

sweet marsala or port wine

  • Clean mushrooms, remove stems (twist gently)
  • Melt butter over medium into medium sauce pan
  • Add minced garlic and chopped onion
  • Add mushrooms, saute 2 minutes
  • Add wine until mushrooms are covered
  • Simmer for at least a half hour
  • Sometimes I add a little sugar in the raw

Vegan version, no butter but use olive oil or soy margarine
