sweet potato casserole

This is my version, more spicy than sweet.


5-6 sweet potatoes, peeled and chopped

3/4 stick butter plus 3 tablespoons

1/2 teaspoon Kosher salt

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper

1/2 teaspoon grated ginger

1 row buttery crackers, crushed

  • Boil potatoes until ready to mash
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  • Butter baking dish with 1 tablespoon butter
  • Drain and mash potatoes adding 3/4 stick butter and spices
  • Pour into baking dish
  • Melt 2 tablespoons butter and mix with crushed crackers
  • Add crackers on top of casserole and bake for 30 minutes
