This is my version, more spicy than sweet.
Ingredients;
5-6 sweet potatoes, peeled and chopped
3/4 stick butter plus 3 tablespoons
1/2 teaspoon Kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon grated ginger
1 row buttery crackers, crushed
- Boil potatoes until ready to mash
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- Butter baking dish with 1 tablespoon butter
- Drain and mash potatoes adding 3/4 stick butter and spices
- Pour into baking dish
- Melt 2 tablespoons butter and mix with crushed crackers
- Add crackers on top of casserole and bake for 30 minutes
