Champagne can only be referred to sparkling wines in the Champagne region of France.  Any sparkling wines outside this region are considered sparkling wines. We toured Chandon.  Sunny, sparkling day,  white tablecloths on the tables.  We sampled sparkling wines paired with strawberries and cheese. Try Chandon Blanc De Noirs, made with Pinot Noir. Reasonably priced!

Burgundy is a region in eastern France where wine is produced. The red wines in this region are made from the Pinot Noir grape and the whites from the Chardonnay grape.

Bordeaux is a region in southwest France, there are white and red varieties.A couple of the main red varieties are Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Main white varieties are Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon.

A couple summers ago, my husband and I visited Napa Valley.  It was the most romantic, peaceful, beautiful place I have ever been.  We were able to touch the vines.  V. Sattui was my favorite.  It was intimate, personal, and the wine was exquisite.  We were able to purchase food there and eat on the grounds, which looked like a small Italian garden.
